Remark: KLM pilot Iwan Smirnoff was on his way to London with three passengers. Just off the English coast, steam comes out of the radiator and the engine will soon stop. Smirnoff is forced to make an emergency landing and puts the plane down on a sandbank, the Goodwin Sands.

Remark: While approaching Rotterdam Airport, the pilot was forced to attempt an emergency landing for unknown reasons. Upon landing in a field, the aircraft impacted a drainage ditch and came to rest upside down. All three occupants evacuated safely. It was rebuilt with another MSN 1533 and same registration H-NABL, later re-registered to H-NABR.

Remark: KLM pilot Henk Klunder flies the 2 x daily KLM service from Schiphol (via Rotterdam and Brussels) to Paris with three passengers. Above the Forêt Mormal, just below the Belgian-French border, he finds himself, as a newspaper writes, in "dog weather". The clouds hang lower and lower and Klunder has to keep flying lower itself in order to maintain visibility. At some point, however, the cloud cover hangs so low above the ground that fog forms. As a result, Klunder does not see the branches of the trees in the forest (in time) and hits them. The plane crashes and all four people on board are killed.

Remark: Was first the rebuild H-NABL - In the afternoon of 28 July 1928, 5 ladies report to Rotterdam Waalhaven airport for a sightseeing flight above Rotterdam. Ready is the KLM Fokker F.III H-NABR with Schott as pilot. The experienced Schott has been flying this older Fokker type for several weeks. After the usual test of the engine, the group starts at 2.48 pm. westbound for the scenic flight.
After 150 metres, the Fokker frees itself, but the position of the aircraft is abnormal: it flies with a low-hanging tail. A sudden gust of wind sends the plane drifting to the right. With difficulty, Schott pulls the low-hanging aircraft over the fence of the airport, but it hangs low and behind the fence lie the many ships in the Waalhaven. Schott sees the masts of the 'Kolenmijn' coming towards him and can no longer avoid them due to the stalled condition of the aircraft. The landing gear and right wing hit the three forward masts, the first snapping off and the second losing its top. The contact with the third mast is catastrophic: it destroys the wing, causing the plane to fall 75 meters further into the water of the harbor. At a depth of only 4 meters, the aircraft rests with the right wing on the bottom; the hull lies at an angle to the water. The left side of the cabin above.

Remark: On April 24, 1924, the Fokker F.III H-NABS with pilot Adriaan Pijl at the controls disappears above the Channel during a flight from Croydon (London) to Rotterdam. On board are, in addition to the pilot, 2 passengers, Messrs W.J. van Hien and C. Modderman. The H-NABS had made a stopover in Lympne after leaving Croydon to load goods. Arrow had had to wait quite some time there due to dense fog before being able to take off again. Despite intensive searches, the aircraft was never heard from again. Because there was no radio on board, the circumstances surrounding this accident will forever remain a mystery.

Remark: The aircraft departed Rotterdam-Waalhaven Airport at 1214LT and the pilot landed at Calais where it stopped for about 45 minutes for weather improvement. While cruising over The Channel and approaching the English coast, the pilot encountered poor visibility due to fog and low clouds. He continued along the shore and arrived in Hythe, Kent, when the aircraft hit a tree and crashed in a field. All four occupants were rescued and one passenger was slightly injured. At the time of the accident, visibility did not exceed 75 yards.

Remark: During the takeoff roll, the aircraft struck an irregularity in the ground and rotated prematurely. Unable to get sufficient height due to low speed, the aircraft stalled and crashed. All three occupants evacuated safely and the aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair.
